Overview

Nicole K. Rendos, PhD, LAT, ATC, CSCS is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at Emory University. Dr. Rendos holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in Athletic Training from West Virginia University and the University of Virginia, respectively, and PhD in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Biomechanics from the University of Miami. She completed her postdoctoral training at Florida International University and Emory University in motor unit physiology and gait biomechanics, and is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Dr. Rendos’s research goal is to elucidate biomechanical consequences that occur as a result of diabetes-mellitus related lower-limb amputation and develop novel rehabilitation strategies to minimize complications, improve walking function, improve quality of life, and decrease mortality post-amputation.  Some of the tools and techniques Dr. Rendos employs in her research include 3-dimensionl kinematic and kinetic analysis of human motion, electromyography, biofeedback, and clinical evaluation.
