Through the DPT curriculum at Emory, my responsibilies include teaching of pediatric content at the basic and advanced levels. My passion is to bring the clinic to the classroom, and to promote advocacy for children. I am an ABPTS certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist, and have beein in physical therapy practice for 25 years. I am also an APTA credentialed advanced clinical instructor.
My clinical and research interests include physical activity and quality of life in children with leukemias, balance outcomes in children with CNS tumors, and nonsurgical management of deformities in children.
Currently, I practice in outpatient physical therapy and provide specialty clinic coverage in the Judson L Hawk and AFLAC clinics at the Scottish Rite Campus of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. I also am faculty at the newly formed Pediatric PT Residency program at CHOA.
In the leadership arena, I have served as delegate from Georgia to the APTA in the past, and presently serve as the GA State Representative to the Section of Pediatrics. I am also the chair of the Cultural Competence Committee of the Section of Pediatrics.
